Lena Dunham would stare at self in mirror as a kid: ‘Everybody is so lucky that they get to look at me’

If anyone was wondering how Lena Dunham became so comfortable with her body, they need not wonder anymore. All it took was some time in front of the mirror.

The “Girls” creator and star, whose ease disrobing for the camera has raised eyebrows, revealed her secret in a recent interview with Marie Claire UK.

“This could very easily be taken out of context, and I think it’s funny now, but I remember looking in the mirror as a kid and it would be like for an hour at a time, and I’d be like: ‘I’m just so beautiful. Everybody is so lucky that they get to look at me,’” she said.

The actress admits that that gets harder as you grow older but says she’s still able to tap into that feeling.

Dunham also says that her parents set a good example for her, letting her know that there was no one perfect type of body.

“My parents both have really healthy attitudes about their own bodies but also about the range of things that can be beautiful,” she said.
