Miley Cyrus thought she’d die if she didn’t have a boyfriend

Even when she’s fully clothed, Miley Cyrus is still revealing.

While the 21-year-old pop star may have dressed more conservatively than usual for Elle’s May 2014 (on newsstands in select cities on April 15) cover shoot, she bared all in the corresponding interview with 17-year-old Rookie editor-in-chief Tavi Gevinson.

“Like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I’m totally okay, and that’s so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn’t have a boyfriend,” the former “Hannah Montana” star said about life after fiancé Liam Hemsworth.

Cyrus also touched on double standards she’s facing in the entertainment industry. The “We Can’t Stop” singer received widespread criticism for her sexually-charged performance at the MTV VMAs last summer, including allegedly losing out on a Vogue cover.

“I mean, guy rappers grab their crotch all f—king day and have hos (sic) around them, but no one talks about it,” Cyrus said. “But if I grab my crotch and I have hot model bitches around me, I’m degrading women? I’m a woman — I should be able to have girls around me! But I’m part of the evolution of that. I hope.”
