Bethenny Frankel’s talk show gets canceled

Bethenny Frankel’s daytime talk show has officially been canned.

Deadline Hollywood reports that the mouthy former “Real Housewives of New York City” cast member will not return for a second season.

“Bethenny,” executive produced by Ellen DeGeneres, officially debuted in September after a trial run last spring. But ratings for Frankel’s show — with around 1 million viewers a day — lagged behind her talk show competitors Steve Harvey, Wendy Williams and Queen Latifah.

Show producer Telepictures said in a statement: “We are incredibly proud of the creativity, passion and professionalism Bethenny and her staff brought to daytime each and every day and look forward to finishing out the season with more great original episodes.”

Frankel said in a statement on the cancellation: “I had a blast doing this show with Telepictures. My entire staff worked so hard and made everyday so much fun. I am thankful for the experience and for all my fans who tuned in every day.”

Aside from soft ratings, Page Six reported in October the outspoken TV star and founder of the Skinnygirl low-calorie beverage brand had trouble connecting with audience members, who noted her icy disposition on set.

“She’s cold and only walks in when she has to tape and walks out,” said one source at the time.

Recent guests on “Bethenny” include Nick Cannon, Brandi Glanville and Hoda Kotb.

Frankel, 43, found TV fame after her stint on Bravo’s “Real Housewives.” She then starred in a spin-off show, “Bethenny Ever After,” centered around her marriage to Jason Hoppy and birth of their daughter, Bryn. The couple are now divorcing.
