Donna Karan doesn’t usually suffer a fashion disaster. But the designer and supermodel Christie Brinkley were stunned to find they wore the same silver dress to the Heat Hamptons Ben efit last Saturday at Steven Klein‘s farm in Bridgehampton. The two mustered their brightest smiles as they posed together in Karan’s Urban Zen dress, but then kept their distance. Luckily, the dress was a convertible, so Karan later rearranged hers at the event, adding a sleeve and tightening a drape, but Brinkley didn’t handle it as well. “When Donna made her speech, Christie walked away looking for her group of friends,” a source said. Also at the benefit were Ann Dexter-Jones, Fern Mallis, Russell Simmons, An drew Saffir, Daniel Benedict and Donna’s daughter, Gabby Karan de Felice. A rep for Brink ley said that she wore the dress to honor Karan and that they “were the perfect example of the versatility of her brilliant de sign.”
