Sam Ronson creates techno trauma in Hamptons

Samantha Ronson couldn’t find her groove at the Brazilian Sunflowers event in Southampton, playing techno before neighbors called the cops. ACE founder Henry Buhl treated 300 guests to dinner and a mellow live performance of Brazilian bossa nova by vocalist Bebel Gilberto at his estate Saturday, before Ronson tore up the turntables. But her set list didn’t match the mood. “The crowd was primed for this mellow music. And she came on and started playing techno, inappropriate for the crowd,” said a guest, journalist Neil Wolfson. But a rep for the party benefiting the Association of Community Employment Programs for the Homeless insisted, “She played ’80s music and lots of Michael Jackson. One lady who may have been a little worse for the wear snapped at Ronson, ‘Why aren’t you playing more disco music?’ She was shooed away.” Cops allowed the event to continue. “We have that at every party,” added the rep.
