Woody Allen shocks partygoers by dressing up as…

Woody Allen went as himself to Allison Sarofim’s annual over-the-top pre-Halloween party — and some thought the surprise guest was a random guy in a particularly convincing Woody Allen costume.

In a blue sweater and khakis, the attention-shy director was one of the few party people not in disguise — along with Valentino, who certainly would not dress as someone else and arrived in his usual uniform, a sharp suit.

Entertainment at the West Village townhouse included body-painted dancers, a fire-eater and one nearly naked gal acting as a human candelabra encased in dripping wax.

“It was hilarious watching Woody looking around, shocked, by all the naked, gyrating ladies,” said a spy.

Guests at the Gauguin-themed bash were inspired by the artist’s Polynesian paintings. Sarofim, the hostess herself, wore an array of carefully placed tropical leaves with matching headpiece.

“Woody arrived with Soon-Yi, who was in a floral headdress, and [photographer] Jean Pigozzi,” a guest said. “Pigozzi was dressed like a Polynesian warlord . . . No shirt, belly hanging out, low-slung floral skirt, plus a shoulder bag that had a sweater in it.”

A spy said Allen was a good sport taking pics with people, but when he became the center of attention, he took off. “There were a lot of women there who could have starred in ‘Blue Jasmine,’ ” joked a guest.

Also spotted in the crowd were model Joan Smalls, Stephen Dorff, Carlos Mota, Lorraine Schwartz, Marjorie “Mad Marg” Gubelmann, Bob Colacello, Peter Brant II with little brother Harry, Bronson Van Wyck, Dori Cooperman and Jennifer Creel.
