Norah O’Donnell’s son wants everyone to call her ‘mommy’

Kids say the darnedest things.

Norah O’Donnell, the former White House correspondent now on “CBS This Morning,” told the crowd at the Pierre on Thursday that one of her kids wonders why she is introduced on-air as Norah O’Donnell: “Why don’t they call you Mommy?”

O’Donnell — who has 7-year-old twins, Henry and Grace, and daughter Riley, 5 — told the National Mother’s Day Committee luncheon, where Brooke Shields was also honored, that her husband brags, “I had three children in 13 months with the same woman!”

Photographer Bettina Cirone, who was taking notes, said O’Donnell praised her mother — who lives in a tiny house in Queens — and her grandmother, who arrived at Ellis Island in 1930 with $20 in her pocket.

“I don’t feel deserving of this award,” O’Donnell said. “My mother and my grandmother were the pillars. This award is for them.”
