The grown children of designer Charles James, Charles Jr. and Louise, were among VIPs touring the Met’s exhibition of their dad’s work, “Beyond Fashion,” on its opening day, Thursday.

Spies said Charles Jr. and Louise had met with movie mogul Harvey Weinstein earlier in the day after reaching a deal with him to relaunch James’ label and expand the brand.

Sources said that before the exhibition, James’ heirs had lunch with Weinstein and also toured the Marchesa studio of his fashion designer wife, Georgina Chapman, who will be a creative consultant for the line.

Weinstein previously invested in a relaunch of the Halston brand with a consortium, which he pulled out of in 2011. This time, his company will be the sole partner with the James family to revive the designer’s legacy, sources said.

Ironically, James and Halston had a legendary feud after James accused Halston of using his designs and not giving him credit.

Also at the exhibition were Iman and James’ close friend R. Couri Hay, who lent a series of rare James drawings to the museum for the show.
