Manhattan society movers and mavens will soon be reaching for an upcoming novel, a stalker thriller, to see if anyone they know could be featured under a pseudonym.
Ashley McDermott, the tall blond beauty frequently seen on New York’s social and philanthropic circuits, is meeting with publishers and producers to shop her manuscript “Too Close To Hide.”
The story takes place in New York, Aspen, South Beach and the South of France. It is centered on Elizabeth Oliver, a widow in her 30s in New York, whose life is shattered when a former flame, Walker Jordan, comes back into her life. But their reconciliation descends into a dangerous stalking nightmare.
Ashley said, “This story was inspired by a real-life stalking incident I had in my early 20s. Elizabeth and Walker are compilations of many women and men we all know. My fiction is based on real life but in the most adrenalized way.”
