A stylist to the stars settled a lawsuit over unpaid bills against rapper Jay-Z’s former assistant for $30,000.

The Manhattan Supreme Court settlement, made public yesterday, says Jay-Z protege Carline Balan must repay Mariel Haenn in $5,000 installments for the next six months.

Los Angeles-based Haenn, who’s invented red carpet looks for top celebs from tennis champ Serena Williams to actor Will Smith, hired Balan of Manhattan to be her agent in 2008.

Balan runs a lifestyle management company and was supposed to invoice clients, take a percentage of the fee and return the balance to Haenn.

The two stopped working together in 2009 and a year later Haenn sued Balan for failing to turn over $48,000 in fees.

The services included personal shopping for Jada Pinkett-Smith, wardrobe purchases for Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” music video and television appearance styling for singer Keri Hilson, according to court papers.

Haenn claims her ex-employee failed to separate payments from the stars that she was supposed to take a cut of and pass along to her boss into a separate escrow account.

Haenn also claims Balan stopped collecting funds from the clients.

In a reply to the suit Balan shot back that Haenn actually owed her $210,000 in unpaid fees for her work.

The settlement, signed by Justice Lucy Billings, allows Haenn to slap a lien on Balan if she is more than four days late with the installations.

Neither side immediately returned messages for comment.
