Johnny Depp will not have to testify in a bizarre Los Angeles murder case involving a limousine driver who claimed she dated the actor.

Lawyers on both sides of the case agree that the woman, Nancy Lekon, never dated the “Pirates of the Carribean” star, 50, but her lawyer hoped that calling Depp to the stand would help prove his client was insane, reports TMZ.

In 2009, Lekon was driving a limo on Skid Row when she struck a pedestrian, dragging her for a mile and killing her.

At the time of her arrest, the woman claimed that she was in a relationship with the actor.

Lekon filed a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.

Earlier this month, Depp confirmed his engagement to actress Amber Heard, whom he met on the set of 2011’s “The Rum Diary.”
