Scarlett Johansson agrees to be Jimmy Kimmel’s prom date

Jimmy Kimmel may have dated Sarah Silverman, but he wishes he went to the prom with Scarlett Johansson.

When the “Avengers” actress stopped by for an interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night, the host set up an elaborate ruse to make it appear as if the bombshell had accompanied him to the rite of passage high school dance. When Kimmel revealed that he hadn’t had a date for prom, Johansson turned sympathetic.

“I would have gone to prom with you,” said Johansson. “I would have.”

Kimmel did not waste any time.

“I have something set up for you,” he said, opening a set of curtains and walking Johansson to an area where he had set up a life-sized cardboard cutout of himself as a teenager. Kimmel looks exceptionally young, and very scrawny, in the cutout. He wears a powder blue suit with a ruffled shirt and a black bowtie.

“Is that you?” said Johansson. “Wow, no wonder nobody wanted to go with you.”

Kimmel’s cutout was positioned in front of a pink background, with gilded twigs placed about — the perfect re-creation of a prom photo station.

“If you could get next to me in high school and we’ll pretend then that I went to the prom with you,” said Kimmel, slipping a corsage on Johansson’s wrist.

Johansson kindly obliged him, posing with the cutout.

“More lovey dovey,” said Kimmel, directing her. “More like we can’t wait to get back to my mom’s station wagon.”

Johansson even stuck her tongue in the cutout’s ear at Kimmel’s request.

As the segment ended, she blew a kiss at the teenage Kimmel cutout before hugging and kissing the host on the cheek.
