Jay-Z jokes of Blue Ivy Carter: ‘I’ll probably have the worst, spoiled little kid’

Jay-Z worries that daughter Blue Ivy Carter may become “the worst, spoiled little kid ever” despite he and wife Beyoncé’s best efforts.

The “Glory” rapper spoke briefly about his hopes and fears as a new parent on the Oprah Winfrey Network show “Oprah’s Master Class: Special Edition” last night. Beyoncé gave birth to the couple’s daughter on Jan. 7 and, at just four-months-old, Blue Ivy Carter has already become the youngest person to chart in Billboard’s history, as well as major paparazzi fodder.

“Well, I mean, everyone imagines they’ll be a great dad,” said Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter. “Until they’re teenagers saying, ‘Get away from me, Dad. You’re embarrassing me!’ Right? Everyone imagines that, right?”

Jay-Z said that he was glad to have some experience with kids, from being a father-figure to his nephews.

“I imagine I’ll take things I learned from my mom and things I’ve learned from raising my nephews and apply that,” he said.

He then began laughing and joked, “Then at the end of the day, I just know I’ll probably have the worst, spoiled little kid ever.”

While Beyoncé might disagree with her husband’s assessment, Jay-Z’s protege Rihanna recently expressed concern about Blue Ivy Carter being brought up in the lap of luxury.

“Chores are important for a young lady. They teach you a lot about life,” the “Umbrella” singer said last month while appearing on an Australian radio show. “But [Blue Ivy Carter] will probably never have to do a dish in her life.”
