Alex Rodriguez hit a Met gala after-party at Crown with girlfriend Torrie Wilson, along with her best friend, Stacy Keibler. The Yankee slugger and his entourage of attractive blond former wrestlers were early arrivals — while his ex, Cameron Diaz, avoided the scene and a possibly embarrassing encounter with his new squeeze, and threw her own bash at the Carlyle with Gwyneth Paltrow. But by 1 a.m., Wilson and Keibler, without George Clooney, ditched Rodriguez and headed to dance at the Top of the Standard with Matthew Morrison, and later at the Electric Room until the very early hours.

Also at Crown on East 81st Street, Joe Jonas, who moved through the crowd with brothers Kevin and Nick (the only stars with a bodyguard), had a clever idea of how to improve the Met gala’s red-carpet experience: “I would attach a Slip ’n Slide to the red carpet so that at the end of the night, we could all just slide right down into our cars.” Spies later said Nick seemed somewhat distracted by Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice. Across the room, Debra Messing sat with Allure editor Linda Wells at a corner banquette. And while Rosario Dawson, Rachel Zoe, China Chow, Amber Valletta,
Ashley Greene, Coco Rocha, Jamie Tisch, Ginnifer Goodwin, Karolina Kurkova and New York Knick Tyson Chandler partied inside, Jacob Arabo, aka “Jacob the Jeweler,” gave Emma Roberts a ride to Crown, but when Roberts went inside, Arabo didn’t. Observers said Roberts’ name was on the list, but his was not.
