‘Suri’ factor scares parents

Suri Cruise’s start at Avenues, an exclusive $39,750-a-year private school in Chelsea that emphasizes a “global curriculum,” has many parents clamoring to get their kids in — but has left some wanting to get their babies out because of possible paparazzi attention. “I had two different parents call to tell me their children are beautiful young girls that look like Suri,” education consultant Dana Haddad tells Page Six Magazine. “The girls will all be in uniforms, and they’re worried their daughters will be mistaken for Suri by the paparazzi outside the school.” Tom Cruise’s and Katie Holmes’ daughter will leave the princess dresses at home and isn’t expected to get special treatment from other kids. “They’re not going to gawk,” predicts Anisha Ahooja, a former teacher at the Dalton School on the Upper East Side and author of “Schooled.” “They’ll check themselves. It’s cooler to be the girl telling Suri Cruise, ‘You can’t sit here,’ than to be impressed.” Don’t miss Page Six Magazine, free in the New York Post on Thursday.
