Jessica Simpson reveals weight loss struggle after baby

Jessica Simpson thought she’d automatically lose her pregnancy pounds when she gave birth, admitting she overindulged while pregnant.

The new mom, who’s about to make her debut as a Weight Watchers spokeswoman, says she’s been trying to shed her baby weight ever since she and fiance Eric Johnson welcomed their daughter, Maxwell, on May 1.

“I let myself indulge in everything I wanted, because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it,” she told USA Today. “I didn’t know [the weight] didn’t all come off with the baby.”

The singer adds that she’s “lost weight every single week” and watches her food intake and works with a personal trainer.

She walks 60 minutes each day because her “boobs are way too big to run at this point.”

The “Fashion Star” judge has not revealed her current weight, but reports claim that she gained 70 pounds during her pregnancy.

Weight Watchers isn’t pushing her to meet a specific goal on the scale and wants her to lose pounds in a healthy way, she says. The program recommends that women who are Simpson’s height, 5 foot 4 inches, should aim between 117-146 lbs.

She admits it’s not easy to bounce back after her weight gain.

“My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel. I’m just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiance and herself.”

Simpson will debut her post-baby body on Katie Couric’s new talk show “Katie” on September 10.
