Memorial services for tragic hip-hop mogul Chris Lighty will be held today at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel on Madison Avenue. Lighty, 44, committed suicide last week at his home in The Bronx, leaving behind six children and his wife, Veronica. Lighty — who founded Violator Records and worked with rap-world power moguls including Russell Simmons and Lyor Cohen during his career — shot himself Aug. 30 as he was moving out of his home in Riverdale. Friends and former clients of Lighty’s include Sean “Diddy” Combs, 50 Cent, Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J and radio DJ Funkmaster Flex.
