Harvey Weinstein isn’t the only Hollywood mogul that a struggling actor allegedly tried to extort by threatening to kill the target’s family members — new reports say Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh was another target. Kavanaugh, who has produced movies including “The Fighter” and “Limitless,” was allegedly sent an “extortion notice” last month from actor Vivek Shah, 25, demanding $11.3 million. A new affidavit filed last week claims Shah wrote to each victim: “If you follow the instructions, then you can take this notice lightly. If you don’t, then expect at least one person dead in the next one year. It could either be [first names of close relatives], or any other close relative.” Shah allegedly targeted seven wealthy people in a scheme that sought more than $122 million in payments. He is accused of demanding $4 million from Weinstein, $34 million from NHL Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula, $16 million from Groupon co-founder Eric Lefkofsky, $13 million from coal magnate Christopher Cline and $35 million from oil heiress Dannine Avara. Shah was arrested on Aug. 10, just days before he was scheduled for training in handgun shooting in LA. Prosecutors are asking that Shah remain in detention because he may be a flight risk. A Relativity spokesman declined to comment.
