Kim K ‘determined’ to learn about Middle East conflict: report

She gets a shiny star for effort. Kim Kardashian is about to jet off to Kuwait and Bahrain to promotional appearances and while she’s there, she’s reportedly dead set to learn about the conflict in the Middle East.

TMZ reported that the reality star originally agreed to make the trip to the two countries for the store openings of her pet project, Millions of Milkshakes. But after being roundly chastised for commenting on Israel and Palestine, she’s determined to use the trip to educate herself about the region, Kim’s friends said. The buxom brunette has allegedly gone ahead and set up meetings in both countries with local leaders. Bless her heart.

“Kim wants to be as informed as possible … so she can use her celebrity to help those in need and raise awareness about important issues in the area,” a source told the gossip site.

Over the weekend, Kim drew backlash for tweeting, “Praying for everyone in Israel.” Perhaps to balance things out, she later added, “Praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world!” Page Six was told her second tweet did nothing to calm anger against her on Twitter and Facebook, so she deleted both tweets.

She later explained in a message which sounds like it was written by her publicist, “I want to own up to and explain that earlier today I sent out two tweets about saying prayers for the people in Palestine and Israel and after hearing from my followers, I decided to take down the tweets because I realized that some people were offended and hurt by what I said, and for that I apologize.
