Amanda Bynes’ hit-and-run charges dismissed: report

Good news at last for Amanda Bynes.

The former child actress was scheduled for a hearing in her alleged hit-and-run case on Dec. 17, but the charges were formally dismissed ahead of time in a courthouse in Van Nuys, Calif. this week, according to reports.

“Amanda Bynes was able to reach a civil compromise in both of her hit-and run-cases,” a source close to the situation told RadarOnline. “The two separate victims agreed to dismiss the charges after a financial settlement was reached with both… There really is no need to pursue legal charges because damage to their respective vehicles was paid for.”

Bynes’ lawyer Richard Hutton “advanced the case and went in early to avoid the media,” the insider explained.

The 26-year-old fallen star had previously pled not guilty in the hit-and-run cases.

Bynes tweeted in May, “I can’t help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me. I was not in any hit and runs. I don’t drink so the DUI is false.”

Despite the seemingly good news, Bynes still has pending cases for a separate DUI arrest and two counts of driving on a suspended driver’s license.

Transplanted from LA, the star was recently wandering around New York. Page Six spotted Bynes at Rosewood in a “white midriff-baring shirt, a ton of makeup and super-long false eyelashes” last week.

“She seemed sad and empty-eyed,” a spy said. “She kept looking around like she wanted someone to talk to her.”

Bynes was also seen at a Duane Reade sporting newly dyed purple locks and a cigarette. A source said, “She was blatantly smoking, and she had lipstick all over her face.”
