Seth Jones breaking the NHL ice

The 2013 NHL season is still on ice, but excitement surrounding young draft prospect Seth Jones is brewing nonetheless. Jones, 18, is expected to be the top 2013 NHL draft pick next year and, if the predictions come through, he’ll be the first African-American NHL No. 1 pick. Jones is the son of former Denver Nuggets star Popeye Jones, now an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets. Seth learned to play hockey in Denver, and is on the Western Hockey League team the Winterhawks, in Portland, Ore. The puck prodigy was in New York for a photo shoot this week and had a quick dinner with dad at the Cheesecake Factory in White Plains Monday. The draft will be held at the Prudential Center in June.
