Sources behind the scenes at “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” are slinging webs of angry words at the musical’s former co-writer Glen Berger — whose tell-all, “Song of Spider-Man: The Inside Story of the Most Controversial Musical in Broadway History,” is out Nov. 5.
The Post’s Michael Riedel got a peek at the tome featuring tales including Bono’s slow pace turning in tunes with the Edge and Julie Taymor’s out-of-control spending. A new director and writer were brought in.
A rep for the show said the book was not playing well, in a tingling response, said, “If Mr. Berger had put this much imagination into his script, producers wouldn’t have had to hire [his replacement] Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.”
