Film based on NYSE head Ricard Grasso in the works

A movie based on Charlie Gasparino’s 2008 book about Richard Grasso, “King of the Club,” is in the works. Fox Business Network senior correspondent Gasparino cryptically tweeted yesterday: “possible filming locations for grasso movie: rao’s san pietro campagnola two tom’s in bklyn il mulino his home in jackson hts and the nyse.” A source tells us, “It’s in very early discussions to be a cable movie, like ‘Behind the Candelabra,’ ” which aired on HBO. The source said Gasparino had approached Ben Kingsley about starring as former New York Stock Exchange head Grasso, adding that a wish list would also include “Stanley Tucci, Paul Giamatti . . . or any diminutive, bald Italian.” The book charts the rise and fall of Grasso from floor clerk to NYSE chairman from 1995 to 2003. He eventually won a legal battle brought in 2004 by then-New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer over his controversial $140 million pay package.
