The distributor of an upcoming film starring Keri Russell as a Jane Austen-obsessed woman is only allowing the fairer sex to its advanced screenings. Sony Pictures Classics is holding events for groups including the NYC Girly Book Club, Jane Austen Society Summer Camp and the Women’s Mafia to get sneak peeks. Next week in LA, the epically titled Society of Manners and Merriment has invited guests to wear Regency costumes to the film, and fans can pick up teacups as souvenirs that say, “What Would Jane Do?”
