Meryl Streep was the hit of Monday night’s MCC Theater Gala, although the actress couldn’t be there in person.
The “August: Osage County” Oscar nominee paid tribute to the night’s honoree, Allison Janney, by writing and performing a short song via video with her daughter Mamie Gummer.
Lyrics to Steep’s song included the lines: “Oh dear Allison Janney, we sing of her beauty and of her insanity… Tall as O’Reilly and crazy as Hannity.”
Also appearing in the tribute reel were Dulé Hill, Sarah Paulson and Anna Faris to a crowd who included Jane Krakowski, “Girls” star Zosia Mamet and Victor Garber.
