Demi Moore and Oprah Winfrey have struck up a friendship, reports say.

Star magazine claims that Moore contacted Winfrey after she left rehab in early March. In January, Moore had been rushed to the hospital after convulsing while smoking an unidentified substance at a party, and subsequently sought professional help to deal with the “stresses in her life.”

“Demi needs a strong mentor, so she reached out to Oprah a few days after leaving rehab,” a source tells the magazine. “They’ve been in touch ever since.”

The source furthers that Moore is leaning on Oprah for more than her reported substance-abuse issues. Moore is reportedly seeking O’s help in healing her broken heart, following her split from husband of six years Ashton Kutcher in the fall.

“Demi never forgot that Jennifer Aniston told her Oprah was a godsend in helping her after she divorced Brad Pitt,” the source said. “They’re always on the phone, chatting about everything from love-life woes to religion to their careers.”

The magazine’s source alleges that Winfrey has something to gain from the friendship too.

“Demi promises that when she’s ready, she will give Oprah her first post rehab, post-divorce interview,” the source says.

Moore made her first post-rehab appearance earlier this week, attending the launch party for her Lifetime series “The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet.” Moore looked far healthier than she had in the fall. She no longer appeared sullen and gaunt, but appeared to glow, having returned to a healthier weight.
