Madonna and Adele could soon be sharing a stage. Madonna reveals in a new interview that not only had she hoped for Adele to join her for the Super Bowl halftime show, but that the two are currently in discussions for a joint concert this summer.

“‘Yes, I would love to [work with Adele]. I would love to meet her,” Madonna gushes in an interview to air on British talk show “Daybreak” tomorrow. “I think she’s brilliant. I love her.”

The Material Girl even reveals that she had wanted the British songstress to be a part of her Super Bowl halftime extravaganza, which featured Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., Cee Lo Green and LMFAO.

“I wanted her to be in the Super Bowl with me,” said Madonna. “But I think she was having her throat problem or throat operation or something.”

While the singer, whose real name is Adele Adkins, did spend several months recovering from an operation on her vocal cords last fall, the singer made her return to the stage just a week after the Super Bowl, singing “Rolling in the Deep” at the 54th annual Grammys in February.

Still, Madonna did not seem too disappointed that Adele wasn’t available for her Super Bowl show. She hinted in the interview that she and her fellow one-name wonder are discussing a possible joint concert in London’s Hyde Park this summer.

This is not the first time Madonna has showed her love for Adele. When Karl Lagerfeld called Adele “a little too fat” earlier this year, Madonna came to her rescue, saying, “That’s horrible. That’s just the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Adele’s a great talent and how much she weighs has nothing to do with it.”
