“I had this argument with Adele, which is probably the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever said,” explains Pattinson. “I was saying, ‘You know, you can really just like reach for it.’ And she was like, ‘You do realize I am like the biggest-selling female artist ever?’”

Adele, who won six Grammy awards this year and whose album “21” has gone platinum 16 times over, took issue with the “Twilight” saga actor saying that she had an easier time in everyday situations.

“I just, for some reason, just decided to get into an argument with her about this,” Pattinson continued. “I woke up the next morning regretting every word of it.”

Pattinson admits that he is socially awkward, and was even before he shot to fame with the release of “Twilight.”

“I would be one of those people who was desperate to go to a party and then they go to the party and just stand in the corner with the people they came with and refuse to acknowledge that anyone else is there,” he explains. “So I don’t really miss anything. You have all these fantasies of, ‘If I wasn’t famous I’d meet all these random people in the street all the time.’ But you don’t meet random people in the street. Most of the time you’re trying to avoid everybody.”
