In perhaps the most shocking moment of the MTV Video Music Awards, Rihanna approached ex Chris Brown on her way to her seat and gave him a hug and a kiss.
It was the first time they’ve been seen touching each other since Brown violently beat her and sent her to the hospital three and a half years ago.

The moment, captured on MTV’s live Internet feed, sparked further rumors that Brown and Rihanna are still romantically linked even though Brown is supposedly dating Karruche Tran.
After Page Six revealed the pair were repeatedly seen earlier this summer partying at clubs in New York and the French Riviera, Rihanna opened up about her feelings for Brown. She famously defended him for the beating incident and called him the love of her life in a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey.
