Fashion queen and tennis fan Anna Wintour met with Maria Sharapova in New York on Sunday. The Vogue editor, a close friend of Roger Federer, was seen chatting with willowy Sharapova in the restaurant at the Andaz 5th Avenue hotel. A witness told us, “Both were drinking water, no food was ordered. It looked like a business meeting.” They later headed to Victoria Beckham’s show. Perhaps we’ll see Sharapova, knocked out of the US Open in the semifinals, be crowned with a Vogue cover.
