WATCH: Jay-Z rides the subway to Brooklyn

Stars, they’re just like us…well, if we had a security entourage, too.

Jay-Z and his crew rolled up at the Canal Street Station Saturday to catch the R train to Brooklyn. He got off at Atlantic Ave. and headed to the Barclays Center where he performed his eighth and final show to commemorate the grand opening of the new space for the Brooklyn Nets, which Hova co-owns.

His stunt, captured in a now-viral video, drew plenty of attention but his bodyguards made sure that fans were at arm’s length.

Jay-Z, who hails from Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood and took his rap moniker from the J/Z subway line, is certainly no stranger to the NYC underground.

The rapper also recently announced that he’s releasing a new album dubbed “Live in Brooklyn” from his concert series. It’s his first live album in more than a decade.
