Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales will be jetting off to the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean with new bride, Kate Garvey, after the two were married in London over the weekend. Wales and Garvey, the former diary secretary for former prime minister Tony Blair, got hitched in a private ceremony at Wesley’s Church. Guests included British model Lily Cole, Blair and his wife, Cherie, and Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall. Sources said wedding guests including Do Something CEO Nancy Lublin, The Economist New York Bureau Chief Matthew Bishop and Rock Art Love founder Nichole Rhodes partied late night at the South Place Hotel, singing around a piano. We’re told after the festive ceremony, which included a bagpipe performance by Blair’s former communications director Alastair Campbell, the couple are heading off to a private yacht bound for the Caribbean next week. Wales reached out to us Wednesday morning to tell us he was still in London, and didn’t say where he was headed on honeymoon. Wales, who met Garvey at the World Economic Forum in Davos, quickly updated his Wikipedia page to include his wedding date. Garvey still doesn’t have her own Wikipedia page, but that might soon change.
