Gen. David Petraeus thought his honor at the annual Military Ball was given to him out of charity. Attendees tell us the CIA director quipped Friday night at the gala: “In 2010, you chose to honor my wife, Holly, with your award for service to our nation . . . I know that tonight’s award is just an effort to keep her husband from feeling left out.” Petraeus was feted for his service along with several others, including New York Post editorial page editor Bob
McManus, who received an award for Distinguished Media Achievement. Singer/songwriter Sylvia Tosun, who has sung for the USO since she was 12 years old, belted out the national anthem at the event at the Pierre Hotel.
