WATCH: Pat Robertson baffled by ‘50 Shades of Grey’

Conservative Christian Pat Robertson is shocked – shocked! – that some women watch porn.

Robertson brought up the subject during a recent “700 Club” segment during which the GOP elder statesmen expressed dismay at the wildly successful erotic novel “Fifty Shades of Grey” by British Author E.L. James.

“I mean, the thing that shocks me — shocks me — we always thought this was a male thing. A boy thing. A guy thing. And now, it looks like 30 percent of women are involved in pornography.”

He added, “While most people think of pornography as something men struggle with, a third of the millions of Americans who watch porn are… WOMEN. And they’re getting addicted to it!”

At one point, he turned to his co-host Kristi Watts, and asked “anything in porn that attracts you?” Watts, who appeared rather uncomfortable, said no.

He also called author James a “housewife-y type” from “some little town in England,” and was baffled by the book’s runaway success. “Fifty Shades of Grey is the fastest selling paper book of all time. And the book’s erotic content has left some to call it ‘mommy porn.’”

“Who would have thought?” Robertson said. Funny you should ask, Pat.
