Top model Karlie Kloss found time to do good for victims of Hurricane Sandy before strutting the runway in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Wednesday night at the Lexington Armory.

“There’s people that have lost everything in the last week,” she told us. “I feel so fortunate to be here and have fun doing this, but at the same time I want to help the less fortunate.”

Before Kloss walked in the splashy VS show, which included performances by Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Bruno Mars, the beauty — who’s a regular in Vogue and has appeared in ads for Donna Karan, Alexander McQueen and Yves Saint Laurent — volunteered at Food Bank for New York City’s warehouse and distribution center.

She’s looking to organize another trip to the food bank with her fellow VS Angels.

“It was cool going in there and helping them out, and seeing everything that they’re doing to give food and emergency supplies to people hardest hit by the hurricane. I’m trying to see if I can get all of the girls together to come with me and do a day at the soup kitchen or something, to help all the people that have been affected,” Kloss told us.

On Thursday, Kloss, 20, participated in a CBS Hurricane Sandy relief telethon to raise money for the American Red Cross.

Afterward, the 5-foot-11 model, who was raised in St. Louis, closed on an apartment in the West Village, a week after Sandy ravaged Downtown Manhattan. She was worried about her proximity to the Hudson River: “The water came up the West Side Highway, and my place is quite close to [there]. So I was concerned that would be an issue, but we had an inspector come in and figure everything out, and all was good.

“I just hope that this doesn’t become a common thing, the water surges along the Hudson. This will be my first time being a homeowner, so I would prefer not to have to learn how to deal with those things,” Kloss said.
