A 1950s-style teaser trailer for the new Lindsay Lohan flick “The Canyons” was released yesterday…and it’s so bad it’s good.
The over-the-top clip features stars stripping off and getting down, and an announcer who declares in a deep, schlocky voice, “From the pen of Twitter-obsessed author Bret Easton Ellis” and “directed by the never-nominated director Paul Schrader.”
Shot in black and white and oozing with melodrama, Lohan’s character Tara says “I guess I’d like to keep some parts of my life private.”
Her co-star, X-rated film actor James Deen, is announced as “a potent new screen presence.” Cheeky.
Set in present day, “The Canyons” is about a group of 20-somethings and dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally. An earlier teaser for the upcoming Bret Easton Ellis flick was made to resemble thrillers from the 1970s.
