Galleries overcome Sandy

As art galleries rebuild from storm damage in Chelsea, some intrepid downtown dealers are launching new shows in pop-up spaces. Andy Valmorbida says he’ll go ahead with a pop-up show of multimedia works by Todd James and Alexis Ross at 560 Washington St. on Nov. 13, even though the installation process had to begin while the building had no power. — is opening a show of street art called “Deep Space” at 450 W. 14th St. on Friday. Meanwhile Artwalk NY, featuring an auction of works by Cindy Sherman, Andy Warhol, Ed Ruscha, Jenny Holzer and others, will launch at 82 Mercer St. tomorrow.
