Snakkle.com recently compiled a list long-forgotten odd couple romances that include Michael Jackson and Tatum O’Neal (1978), Ted Danson and Whoopi Goldberg (1993) and Lyle Lovett and Julia Roberts (1997).
Turns out that Cher had a brief romance with a 16-years-younger Cruise at the start of his career. The singer was 39 at the time and admitted that she was smitten with the then 23-year-old. It’s said they met at a White House event in the mid-eighties after his hit film “Risky Business.”
Cher, now 66, told “Entertainment Tonight” in March 2008, “It was a long, long time ago and neither one of us ever talked about it and I don’t know why. When we were together he was such a private person. He always has been until lately. He didn’t mention it and I didn’t mention it. I loved him though, he was amazing.”
