Leah Remini, the Church of Scientology’s latest high profile defector, is set to appear on the coming season of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Sources say the former “King of Queens” star, 43, will be one of the celebrity contestants on the ABC dance competition, reports TMZ.

The show would be Remini’s first major project since her nasty split from the church earlier this summer.

The actress left Scientology after three decades because she took issue with how members were being treated – its excommunication policies and the perceived infallibility of leader David Miscavige’s rule.

Her issues with Miscavige led her to be subjected to years of “interrogations” and “thought modification”, she said. The actress was also concerned about the whereabouts of Miscavige’s wife Shelly, who had not been seen in public since 2007.

Remini went as far as to file a missing person’s report with the Los Angeles Police Departments in July. The police have said they contacted Shelly Miscavige and Remini’s concerns were unfounded.

The 17th season of “Dancing with the Stars” will reportedly also feature Snooki, “Saved by the Bell” star Elizabeth Berkley, Amber Riley from “Glee”, pop singer Christina Milian and Valerie Harper, who is battling terminal brain cancer.
