George Stephanopoulos donates massive photography collection

ABC morning show anchor George Stephanopoulos has donated nearly 130 photographs by more than a dozen significant photographers to an upstate New York museum.

Officials at The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls tell The Post-Star that Stephanopoulos, a former adviser to President Bill Clinton, has donated 128 photos by 14 photographers, including Henri Cartier-Bresson.

Director Charles Guerin says Stephanopoulos was aware of two photography exhibits currently displayed at the museum and offered to donate part of his collection. The museum, better known for its Rembrandt and Picasso artwork, had been considering building its collection of photography before the offer was made.

Stephanopoulos, who anchors “Good Morning America” and “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” calls the museum “the perfect home” for his photographs.
