THE ex-son-in-law of George Steinbrenner is back in the Bronx Bombers’ good graces, and he appears headed toward reconciliation with the Boss’ daughter. Steve Swindal was once tabbed to take over for Steinbrenner when he retired before falling from grace in 2007 after a DUI and a messy divorce from the Boss’ daughter, Jennifer. But the ex-couple (left) sat together yesterday behind the Yankee dugout, watching the team’s 15-0 drubbing of the crosstown rival Mets. A Yankee team source said, “They’re trying to get back together. Another club source agreed, saying “I could not say for certain, but it certainly looks that way.” Howard Rubenstein, a Steinbrenner family spokesman, declined to comment. A family friend said the two have always been cordial since the divorce because they share a son.
