Ryan Gosling (pictured) is having the last laugh. Just days before shooting was to start two years ago on “The Lovely Bones,” director Peter Jackson dropped him, citing “creative differences,” and replaced him with Mark Wahlberg. Some said that Gosling was overweight and/or difficult on the set. But Gosling, then 26, said he was simply too young to play the father of a 14-year-old girl. Now the $100 million movie is in only three theaters doing minimal business and getting panned by critics. Its wide release has been pushed back to Jan. 15, and Gosling must feel like he dodged a bullet.
