Tiger hunt sparks tall tales

Tiger Woods has been better at keeping himself hidden since Thanksgiving than he was at hiding his many affairs. But now there are almost as many rumors of his whereabouts as there are party girls who claim they slept with the golfing great.

Woods is not secretly staying at Arnold Palmer‘s house in Florida, as a hoax letter from a supposed neighbor in Orlando alleged. Nor is he at a rehab facility in Arizona.

And the least credible story is that he’s shacked up with his No. 1 girlfriend, Rachel Uchitel, in Palm Beach, where they’ve been supposedly partying up a storm.

“Entertainment Tonight” reported Monday that Tiger was holding hands with the club hostess and mingling with 300 guests at a party Sunday night at a private mansion in Palm Beach. The show also claimed the two were seen together the night before at the ultra-WASPy Everglades club — which infamously has no black members, and which used to shun Jews.

The rumors might be fueled by Uchitel, who has made the most of the publicity storm by parading around in a bikini while staying near her mother in Palm Beach, where Woods’ yacht, Privacy, is docked — but has not moved for weeks.

A source told Page Six, “There are a lot of rumors being put out by Rachel’s camp to make sure she is still linked to Tiger and to keep her in the limelight. She’s enjoying this and is milking it.”

When asked if she had seen Woods, bikini-clad Uchitel — who’s been paid a rumored $3 million to keep quiet about their affair — coyly told photographers, “No comment.”

One source told us Woods is deliberately lying low: “Tiger has been kept in hiding by his friends. His camp has been checking out rehab facilities. There is a plan for him to enter a clinic any day now.”
