Storm spoils Eve on St. Barts

It was a New Year’s Eve washout in St. Barts, where storms with soaking rains and high tides forced boldface revelers to move their supersized yachts offshore and cancel their parties.

The biggest bash was supposed to be Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich‘s, where more than 250 were expected. But sources said the rain has been so bad that food and supplies for the party couldn’t get there in time. The blowout was to be hosted by art dealer Larry Gagosian for Abramovich’s gallery-owning girlfriend, Dasha Zhukova.

Among those who braved the Caribbean storm were Marc Jacobs and boyfriend Lorenzo Martone, Harvey Weinstein and Georgina Chapman.

Many A-listers — including Donnie Deutsch, Rory and Elie Tahari, Stacy Keibler, Ryan Phillippe, Kellan Lutz, Chace Crawford, Hayden Panettiere, Jamie Foxx and Jared Leto — instead flocked to Miami. Many boldfacers are expected to see Lady Gaga perform at Liv at the Fontainebleau and Kid Cudi and John Legend rock at Wall at the new W Hotel.

Hawaii drew Muhammad Ali, Meg Ryan, Owen Wilson, John C. Reilly and surfing legend Laird Hamilton. In Mexico, George Clooney and girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis are soaking up the rays with Rande Gerber.

Further afield, Martha Stewart is in Thailand celebrating, among other things, her debut of “Martha Stewart Living” there this week. Billionaire hedge funder John Paulson is hunkered in Gstaad with his wife, Lucinda. Russell Brand and girlfriend Katy Perry have hit India, where they mugged for photos in front of the Taj Mahal.

In Aspen, Heidi Klum, Seal and their four kids are hitting the slopes along with Zac Efron, LeAnn Rhimes and Eddie Cibrian and rocker Perry Farrell.

Finally, in Vegas, the Black Eye Peas, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, and Christina Aguilera are all hosting parties around Sin City to ring in 2010.
