Quentin Tarantino’s close call

Quentin Tarantino sparked a panic by lea ing on a $1 million paint ing while chatting to Harvey Weinstein at the Upper East Side townhouse of art dealer/gallery owner Nathan Bernstein. The “Inglourious Basterds” director risked damaging the James Rosenquist canvas, “Shriek,” at a lunch to honor him and fellow Oscar nominee Christoph Waltz yes terday. A spy said, “The painting has pride of place in the hall way. Tarantino was chatting away to Harvey and casually leaned back on the painting . . . Everyone was terrified he’d rip it. Quentin was very apologetic.” At the lunch were host Harvey Keitel, Kyle MacLachlan, de signer Tory Burch, Warner Music CEO Lyor Cohen and Joan Collins.
