New Yorkers will recognize some of their favorite scenesters in “How to Make It in America,” the HBO series premiering tonight about two young hustlers trying to succeed in the fashion game. “We tried to keep it real,” executive producer Rob Weiss told Page Six, adding that the show will follow in the “Entourage” mold and feature guest spots by the producers’ friends. Designers John Varvatos and Chris Benz have filmed cameos, with Varvatos slated to play “the guy our characters would like to be some day,” Weiss says. Nightlife promoter and Lindsay Lohan lawyer Mike Heller plays Varvatos’ right-hand man. Griffin Dunne playsan F.I.T. professor, and graffiti legend Lee Quiñones paints a truck.
