Andrew Dice Clay staging a comeback

Foulmouthed Comic Andrew Dice Clay is staging a comeback. The Diceman is headlining at the Las Vegas Hilton with plans to tour later this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “The Adventures of Ford Fairlane.” The Renny Harlin film — based on stories by journalist Rex Weiner and starring Clay as a rock ‘n’ roll detective — raised the ire of feminists who found Clay to be rabidly misogynistic. They protested in front of theaters, and “Saturday Night Live” star Nora Dunn was sacked after she boycotted the show Clay hosted the week “Fairlane” was released. Dice says his “Fairlane” co-stars, Billy Idol and Sheila E., have expressed interest in joining the tour, and he hopes to lure fellow cast members Priscilla Presley, Ed O’Neill and Wayne Newton, too. “That movie had such a following, such a controversy behind it. I think it could really wind up being a tremendous tour,” Clay told the Las Vegas Sun.
