Olympic beach-volleyball star Misty May-Treanor is pregnant with her first child, People magazine reported Friday.
May-Treanor, 36, and her husband, Cleveland Indians catcher Matt Treanor, will welcome their bundle of joy in June, a rep said.
“Matt and I are overjoyed and excited about the journey before us,” she said. “We have been wanting to start our family and we feel blessed to finally have this little miracle happen.”
May-Treanor announced her retirement after snagging her third straight gold medal at the 2012 Summer Games.
“It’s time for me to be a wife. I want to be a mom and share time with my family,” she said at the time.
