Hitmaker David Foster, who has written and produced some of the most romantic songs of the last three decades, has finally found his own true love.

Foster, famous for helping the careers of artists such as Celine Dion, Josh Groban and Michael Bublé, became engaged over the Christmas holidays to former Ford model Yolanda Hadid.

A source told us Foster popped the question at a friend’s home in Bel Air — the very same place where he first spotted Hadid four years ago. “He pulled out a 14-carat dazzling sparkler from jeweler Martin Katz, and the entire party erupted in applause,” said one observer.

Foster, who’s won 15 Grammys and been nominated for an Oscar, has been married three times before and has five daughters. He was wed to singer/songwriter B.J. Cook, then to former model Rebecca Dyer. His most recent marriage, to former beauty queen Linda Thompson, the ex-wife of Bruce Jenner, ended in 2005. They collaborated on writing songs, including Whitney Houston‘s “I Have Nothing.”

Dutch model Hadid is a mother of three and the former wife of real-estate developer Mohamed Hadid.

Canadian-born Foster and his bride-to-be are expected on Jan. 15 at Mar-a-Lago, where Foster will be performing a private show of “Foster & Friends” to include appearances by Kenneth “Baby Face” Edmonds and two Foster protégés — “Glee” singing sensation Charice and 10-year-old “America’s Got Talent” runner-up Jackie Evancho.

No word yet on wedding plans, but the guests are sure to be a Who’s Who of the music business, considering that the talents Foster has worked with also include Andrea Bocelli, Mariah Carey, Gloria Estefan, Neil Diamond, Cher, Prince, Chicago, Earth, Wind and Fire, Chaka Khan, Barbra Streisand, Donna Summer, Kenny Rogers, Olivia Newton-John, Madonna, Janet Jackson, the Bee Gees, Bryan Adams and Christina Aguilera.
