It seems Alex Rodriguez‘s appeal has only been enhanced by his split with Cameron Diaz, which Page Six first reported late last month. On Thursday night, he joined athletes including Anna Kournikova, Venus Williams, Tim Hardaway and Brazilian race-car driver Helio Castroneves, plus Angie Harmon and Brooke Shields, for the opening of the JW Marriott Marquis Miami.

A spy tells us that A-Rod was “a hit with the ladies, with several women just walking up and giving him their phone number. But he seemed more interested in hanging with his friends including Ingrid Casares, and spent a lot of time talking to Angie and Brooke.” Rodriguez took all the attention in stride and later won a celebrity basketball shoot-out, donating his winnings to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. A rep for A-Rod didn’t get back to us.
